Irish Pub has been Kathmandu's Irish pub since 2009, at Lazimpat, Ananda Bhawan, a short walk from Thamel. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 4:00pm – 1:30am (closed on Mondays), with Guinness, Irish whiskey, 11 draught beers, pub food and something on most nights.

About Us

An authentic pub, a few steps down from Lazimpat

Irish Pub is an authentic pub in every sense: live music, sport on the screens, karaoke and DJ nights, chilled pints and hearty pub grub. It sits a few steps below Lazimpat Road, in a wooden, low-lit room with green in all the right places.

The bar carries a wide range of drinks, imported and domestic. There are eleven draught beers on tap, beers from all over the world alongside the classics, and our own signature cocktails, mocktails and shots.

Add good company, a pool table and a foosball table, and the evening takes care of itself.

Our Story

There is a truth that everyone who has ever touched a bottle knows: being drunk is better than being sober. And probably nobody knows it better than the Irish. So here is this pub, inspired by the Irish commitment to living and drinking, and by their legendary public houses: places where the community came together, which were always home, and from which no one was ever turned away.

Irish Pub was started in 2009 by a couple from that other nation famous for its beer and its beer drinking: Germany. The pub takes pride in the authentic Irish bar, furniture and collectibles you see all around you. Since then it has changed hands, passing to people who love food, drink and merriment as much as the Irish do.

The pub you see before you bears the marks not only of Ireland, but of all of you who have grown older with the place. And to those of you joining us for the first time: we can't wait for you to become part of our story, as surely we will become part of yours. Stories you'll tell for as long as you live. Stories we'll tell for as long as we stand.

Where is Irish Pub in Kathmandu?

Irish Pub is at Lazimpat, Ananda Bhawan, Kathmandu, Nepal, in Bagmati Province. It sits a few steps below Lazimpat Road, a short walk from Thamel, and has been Kathmandu's Irish pub since 2009.

Is Irish Pub in Thamel?

No. Irish Pub is in Lazimpat, just a few hundred metres from Thamel, so it's an easy walk if you're looking for a bar or pub near Thamel.

What are the opening hours?

Tuesday to Sunday, 4:00pm – 1:30am. Closed on Mondays. It's one of the late-night bars in Kathmandu, open until 1:30am.
